Profile: Hannington Odame is a founding member and its interim Executive Director (ED) of the Centre for African Bio-Entrepreneurship (CABE). Mr. Odame has relevant experience in agricultural innovation systems (AIS) --and is in the final stages of completing his PhD at the Institute of Social Studies (ISS) in The Hague, the Netherlands. This study builds on his MA in Agriculture and Rural Development from ISS and B.Sc. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Guelph, Canada. He has recently applied the knowledge of agricultural innovation systems to the study of biotechnology, food security and smallholder innovations.

For over 25 years, Mr. Odame has gained experience in agricultural knowledge sharing/learning. He has undertaken policy research and capacity building consultancy assignments for international and local agencies. Mr. Odame has written and disseminated several papers.

Mr. David Wafula

Profile: Wafula (Msc. Environmental studies, MA Development Studies) is an environmentalist with postgraduate training in agricultural and rural development. David is a founding member of CABE and serves a Treasurer on its Board of Directors and advisor on Biopolicy to CABE

He is currently working as a research fellow in the agriculture and food security programme at ACTS. For the last five years he has gained valuable experience in the areas of poverty and rural livelihoods, agricultural policy, food security and biotechnology/biosafety related issues. He brings to the project cross-cutting experience on policy issues related to production, marketing and value adding.
